Ugly Muglies

The Ugly Muglies are monstrous shapes that turn out to be mirror reflections in the enchanted cavern.

First named in Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz, ch. 13

The enchanted cavern was small and dim and lit only by a flickering red light, but ranged around the walls was such a company of Ugly Muglies that Peter's fingers, fumbling with the strings of the pirate's sack, shook so he could hardly untie the knots.
